A Clever Girl Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

A Clever Girl

Rating: 5.0

Swirl! !
On the Horizon;

Whirl!
With the muse of a clever girl.

Of grain and wine!
I will not eat until i've told you why i'm here;

Like a well of water,
With the daughters of men coming out to draw water.

A clever girl,
Here for your love;

Hearing your songs,
With the joy of your heart!

Here to meet you,
Moons of days gone by.

Crossing over rivers,
Towards the hill country;

With the view of a beautiful field ahead!
With flocks of sheep.

A clever girl,
I'm a stranger and a sojourner in your land;

Poetry is my muse!
Only with the truth;

Old and advance in age,
To spend the night;

Is there a room for me in your father's house?
Able to receive a stranger.
