A Day With You
Here the world seems to sing
with sunlight all around
Here we could dance in a ring
until all the world sleeps
Only you and I beneath the sky
hand in hand we walk
To and fro have gone and now lie
on soft grass by and by
Watching the sorrowless clouds float
on wispy winds on high
And listening to the frogs gloat
their joy found in mud
We wonder if this moment will ever pass
the very thought would break our hearts
But evening comes with the night, alas
and we must go home again
But if no night ever did lay
its dark shadows down
Then we never would have another day
like this day right now
