A Dream To Share Poem by Ronald Strickland

A Dream To Share

I went to a place.
As the door to the place opened,
I was able to see inside.
I thought a thrift store was a place
where I should see what was inside.
But, as I opened the door,
the room was empty.

Only a woman in a corner on her knees,
with candles, I could see.
'Sorry, ' I said, 'I thought a thrift store.'
'No! ' She replied,
'It's a room for prayer. Please come inside.'
I asked if she would pray for me.

I explained the many things
that have been bothering me.
Then she took my hand and said,
'You need a hug.'
As she hugged me,
all my memories of pain left me,
as she said, 'Jesus sent you a hug.'

She again gave me another hug.
And said, 'Go with the lady behind you.'

My eyes were closed as I was so enjoying the hug.
Then the lady behind me spoke.
'Come with me, and you'll receive so many hugs.'
As I turned about, I saw an angel I was to see.

With this, I awoke.
So it is knowing that God loves me.
