A Drunken Stupor - Poem by JillLynne Perez
Amazing how time repeats itself,
Or how alcohol never lies-
It's funny that I should accept your fury,
Accept it as it were mine-
And time, well, it doesn't erase all wounds,
All it does is dim the effects-
Did it occur to you that I don't want to forget -
When to forget would be ceasing to protect.
What's the matter?
Are my words too deep,
Can you feel the pain you gave to me?
Well, you can have it back, I'm done with it,
Just like your done with me...
I'm so tired of your constant confusion
About what went wrong, and where,
I'd love to take the time to enlighten you-
But that would mean I'd have to care.
Could it be the awful names?
Or maybe your inexcusable rage?
Oh, How I could count the ways...
I despise you.
