A Fantasy Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

A Fantasy

If I were like the Plastic Man I read about
In the comic books when I was a child
I would s-t-r-e-t-c-h my arms and wrap them
Around your neck and chest and tie the rest
Of me in a bow around your beautiful body...
So tight I'd snap in two and you would feel
The sting clear through to your heart
And use Elmer's glue to put me together...
And tie me in a bow around your beautiful body
Again!
