A Free Citizen Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

A Free Citizen

Rating: 5.0

This time it will be
Victory for the truth
People have woken up
From deep slumber
The red marks of lashes
Of poverty are there on
Their heart and mind
They have lost jobs
They have bad health
Their children are facing
Injustice and discrimination
Everywhere and every time
Now they are feeling proud
They realized that they are
Citizens of a civilized country
The biggest democracy in the world
They are free to choose their leaders
Time will change now
Those who have done them wrong
Have to suffer. The day is not far.
They will come out
To take part the greatest festival
Of a free nation. Election.
