A Grandaughter's Advice Poem by james watkin

A Grandaughter's Advice

How must it look
How must it feel
The sphery blue, free and carefree
Swept about in
From this, daisy-assuaged, and stilled
Grassed relating?

'To know, drop it
That distress of
Old age, and its posture, too proud
Lurched a great mile.
And in lying there, alongside
Dream-muse awhile! '
