'A Heart' Poem by Linda Winchell

'A Heart'

Rating: 5.0

A heart was never made to be taken back
Once one has given it away, no matter how hard you try.
You sit with its repair of needs, all what seems a life and cry.

But once a heart is given in love
It’s not easily taken back.
And place it in the home you've known
Of where it once was at.

Trying to be all you think to be
For another or they for you.
May not be an easy task to maintain
With just an, 'I Love You! '

Takes more of what you two had shared
The fun and excitement of first love.
And maybe then you'll not have to stop and mend
That now heart broken you'd shared of love.
