To me, 'History' is what has come 'Before' now,
whether it be about this or that, or when or how.
And, as I think most humans now would do,
when I think of history, I think also of Me and YOU.
I mean about all that's led up to our present selves;
DNA, DVDs, war times, peace times, but, NO, not elves.
Likewise, when we think of what 'Future' means,
we envision humans …. among not-happened-yet scenes.
SO, if 'a History Of The Future' is the title for a poem,
what might I expect such a poem to contain (for you and me) ?
[I've had a tough time (more than usual) writing this.
But I know it's a 'CHALLENGE' so, it, I did NOT dismiss.]
Now, back to the title question 'What's THAT? ', read this text:
'It's EVERYTHING that has come 'Before' what-comes-'Next'. '
Some examples of 'A History Of The Future' I now present:
'Before', Brian J. lived in a mansion. 'Next', he may live in a tent.
'Before', Darlene W. could not spell, 'Next', her novels she does sell.
'Before', Abekah E. had no cash. 'Next', we attend his inauguration bash.
'Before', Bri E. controlled his poops. 'Next', he must wear diapers/nappies …. OOPS!

Well Bri, I am looking for any faded photos of Mansions that I have lived in but so far I've only found squat. I wondered where all those dirty diapers in my yard were coming from, but how is this updated version of 'papering' someone's yard a History of the Future? I am laughing though and I frequently call Abekah 'The Prince of Ghana' and suspect that you may well have predicted the future in his case but after living for two years in a tent in Africa in the Peace Corps, I am certainly hoping you are mistaken about my future in a tent! : -) Humor aside however, I am still scratching my head about how any of this is a history of the future? Shouldn't there be some discussion of the cosmic consequences of your dirty diapers appearing in my yard. Now if God were to strike you dead for such an infantile act against a brother of Christ, returning to a more Old Testament Persona, now that would be a history of the future. The most I can say for your poem however is thanks for the laugh and that your rhyme scheme tells me a lot about your childhood which I pray to God is not the History of Your Future
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
This is fantastic Bri...... Thoroughly enjoyed! Brian's comment is equally hilarious and poor Abekah coming between the elephant fights!
