A Lost Friend Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Lost Friend

Rating: 5.0

I surmised I lost you as a friend,
Because I neglected to do
All I could to earn your respect,
The way I always perceived to.

There were moments when I struggled,
But in reality I would always stall,
And I readily admit that often
I didn't try at all.

But with the passing of turbulent days,
My faith became steadfast and strong,
And suddenly I became cognizant
You have been a true friend all along.

You have never rejected me,
So now I'll always attempt to do
My utmost to earn your respect,
And prove my allegiance for you.
