A sequel to my poem 'A Lullaby For Tasha'
My little granddaughter, Tasha
now a big girl, nine months old.
I try to put her to sleep
attempting to ‘sing' a lullaby
‘Omanathingal kidavo -nalla
komala thaamara poovo oo'
My voice hoarse and harsh,
rendition cacophonical
shooed the angels of sleep
away from her dreamy eyes
After a while, failed miserably
I stopped my audacious effort;
now she started to sing
a finer lullaby for me
'aaaeeeaaa gaagoooo
bnnn ohhhh', she sang!
I struggled, immersed in her love,
to keep myself awake!
Delightful Poem. Enjoyed reading it. Top marks and to my favourite
Dear Poet Unnikrishnan, You have beaten Irayimman Thampi's Omana Thingal'. Your sweet grand daughter Tasha has put you to sleep rather than you putting her to sleep with Omanathingal
It is a pleasure Dear poet Geeta, to read your words. Overwhelming. Thank you
A wonderful poem on cute love! 'aaaeeeaaa gaagoooo bnnn ohhhh'....so sweet. Loved this poem!
Dillipji, this is exactly how Tasha sings… not yet a captive of words and languages and grammar… she sings in her own language, but we are mere folks who fail to decipher her song..
Thank you, Anjandev. So happy to read your comment
It is true that I sing quite horribly. But, Tasha likes me singing, as did her mother thirty years back.

Cute. Grandchildren are precious, aren't they?
Really, Sir! !
