A Misty Lee Poem by Soumili Karmakar

A Misty Lee

Sands of time didn't perish when fingers squeezed a lime,
A glass full of water mingling with sprinkles to drink for a lifetime.
A marble fountain spreading its love,
Winds unlocking wings of my dove.
A day sky watching you from above,
Clouds rising as breezes crosses through stormy puffs.
A Hurricane spinning in foams,
Still eyes knew this wasn't enough.
Heavy rainfall pouring as pearls,
Did you save one or two for your love?
Did you stand in the porch, unarming your chains and letting them fall and mend your city's rugged lanes?
Eyes closed and eyelashes bowing
Whenever rain came blossoms were blooming.

Creases on your dress, laces been wet
Hairs untied asking your feet to stand there for a little late.
Dancing with a rhythm,
Alone in my lane, how could they've known rains were nowhere to be tamed.

The smile on your parted lips,
As Februarys counting you as the first of aglowing March
Even if differences where in fourth years in leaps.
The shining sun making clouds awake and run
The surf watching a smooth sea,
As pebbles lying ashore for listening to the footsteps of thee.
So many seas, so many oceans
Each had their essences when winds blew in motions.
The star fish lying half soaked on sand,
The sea shells willing to be friends to return to their amusing land.
Scarlet petals floating by gentle waves,
If they find you, their wishes will be framed.
If they find you, they'll look for your hand,
Some Unspoken words written on sand.
I know not what they said,
I know city ports were lead by fragrance of your eternal ocean's bed.

Unforgettable journey, though I didn't had anything, or more precise none to claim.
I sailed and sailed and loved the moon and stars,
I sailed where the moon met my sea being unarmed.
I met the moon and thought of introducing you,
A nature's child whom I only knew.

Glitters in your eyes, the orange sun pouring its light.
Tomorrow maybe the sky will be gray,
As dewdrops in mornings will lay,
We'll drive towards the ocean shore
Where pebbles will ask you stay.

They were far beyond my reach, so I let my night and day soak me in their beats.
A blink, a breath, a smile I've always said was my best.
A fall but not merely a defeat,
The love of showers returning in mists.
