A Poem For My Sons Poem by Jennifer Birchall

A Poem For My Sons

Rating: 4.7

You grasped my finger with your tiny hand
The bond between us sealed for life
I would rock you to sleep in my arms
And dance with you to your favourite songs
You held me as you pulled yourself to your feet
Holding on tightly while you made sense of the world
We would throw bread when we fed the ducks
Together we would share books taking turns to turn pages
I wiped your tears, cleaned your wounds and held you when sad
I cheered you on and applauded your achievements
I waved you off when you went alone exploring
And hugs when you returned from your adventures
Hand in hand together we were one
Slowly I unclasped our fingers and now I'll let you go
So you can find your own way in this world
Always remember I'll be there to catch you if you fall

Awesome! Boundless love. Love is limitless, boundless, and reaches the boundary of existence,

Beautiful words to read and even to reminisce of the growing of my own children who have told me its ok to let go. Though I too, will be there.
