A Prayer To The G-D, Leonard Cohen Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

A Prayer To The G-D, Leonard Cohen

Rating: 5.0

I found solace in you, Leonard
All the alters could never hold me
As the Catholic churches come tumbling
And the phoenix blazes out of the ashes
But there's no one to put out the fire
Because the water tower is empty
And is poisoned with human feces
I see you smiling, Leonard
Because you escaped the horrors
Of this life
You're in some kind of heaven
With your Indigenous Saint
And I pray to you to release me
From this dreary life
For I am bored with it
And want your approval
As I set my pen down

An absolutely stunning tribute to one of my favourites! Lee Ann, all of the greats have been bored with life. Yet, they endured. And look at what they've accomplished! And look at what you're accomplishing! ! ! Bravo!

This tribute is epic! Well done, LeeAnn. The 'empty towers' immediately reminded me that democracy will come...'one day'. This goes to myfavourites.
