A Reflection Of A Lonely Life - Poem by David Harris

A reflection of a lonely life
is one that is sealed in silence
within desperate calls
that go unheard by anyone.

Sorrow etches across the brow
a mark of their desolation
as they walk the empty mile
alone and forgotten.

No smile breaks the solemn expression
and their voice is muted
within the sadness of their thoughts
unheard in wayward passing time.

All they hear is whispers
from the shadows that descend
when night falls to mirror them in
a reflection of a lonely life.
