A Somber Sigh Poem by David Harris

A Somber Sigh

Rating: 5.0

Small boats nudge at their mooring
on the waters of a secluded cove;
the stillness nudges our imagination
into the slumber of a better life
without the stresses of our passages
that we pass through each day.
The tranquil sigh of the breeze
as it passes by our cheeks
reminds us to look around
for the epinox that we seek.

In a world steeped in deprivation
when our hearts sink low
we look for some sign
that won’t toss our lives
hither, tither and to and fro.
We look for something calming
we can get lost within
and sooth our troubled soul,
in a place where the night
can rest its head in sleep.

We all seek that solitude
and grasp the moments
whenever they come
to recharge our lives
and give us peace of mind.
The world is such a restless place
filled with glory seeking goals
that we have to stop for moments
leaving all that behind.

That we have to stop for moments leaving all that behind, life left me behind years ago! The only thing I look forward to is walking the dog. However, a lovely poem that I got absorbed in.
