Labor Day was founded
In the 1880s
To be celebrated
By working men and ladies.
It grew to become
A national holiday.
A phenomenal hit
In every way.
Street parades and festivals
Celebrated such time,
Topped by Labor Sunday
To rein-in the chimes.
As the years have passed,
It’s a bit toned down,
But is yet a hit
In every state and town.
