A Torn Fabric Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

A Torn Fabric

Smoke rising from burnt buildings
Debris covers the streets
Anger left the body
And walked over the city

Silent tears, broken hearts
Lives changed forever
Hatred left the body
And walked over the city

Broken trusts, broken faiths
Friends become enemies
Lust for power overpowered
Peaceful communities
