'A Verse At Midnight' Poem by Essambeh Ebai Essambeh

'A Verse At Midnight'

Rating: 5.0

Broken heart, dirge on repeat, pen on a mission,
Parched lines, painful tears, memories in oblivion.
half sonnets, partial octaves, pages in ruins,
How long will a smile beckon, are you that perfect friend too?
Few lines, another elegy many pages on strike,
How long will the silence continue, will I have to write another verse at midnight?
