'.. 'lynn' ' Poem by Essambeh Ebai Essambeh

'.. 'lynn' '

Forgive me if my wordings are somewhat wrong,
There are so many meanings to that name, and it's hard to tell where I truly belong.
Am I locked up in your heart? Am I locked up in hers?
There are still so many facets to that name where do I really start?
Some with an 'S, ' others with a 'C, '
The names still sound familiar; which one will I really tick?
It's hard to tell if I should replay the strings of love.
The story started in an unfortunate way, and I almost made the fall.
From a portrait to a song, from a lyric to a heart,
From the lips that sang, 'I love you' was the mark.
But not from a lover to a heart, but to a friend and more,
This is all I ever asked for, but I guessed my odds were small.
And now, I still ask myself if something actually went amiss.
Will there be another 'S'? Will there be another 'Lynn'?
Was it actually love? Are you the one for me?
