A Woman That Love Forgot Poem by Lora Colon

A Woman That Love Forgot

Rating: 4.8

His love for me was evergreen,
Like the summer grass as it grows,
And like the first rose born to Spring,
He enthralled my days from start to close

A dark cloud passed, then he was gone,
And Love left me adrift at sea,
I wrapped my heart in weeds and stones,
Hoping to drown his memory

Why do I try to touch the stars,
And why do I talk to the moon?
The moon never said it loved me,
And the starlight fades all too soon

We do strange things when love departs
And leaves us with a burning pain,
Love forgot me, leaving memories
Of his kiss, and where his hands have lain

I welcome rain to hide my tears,
In the sun I cover my face,
No one could guess I miss him so,
Of my pain, I will show not a trace

I once pitied those without hope...
Without dreams...... what a sorry lot!
Now I belong to that wretched group,
I'm just a woman that Love forgot

Another beautiful love poem, Lora, with words conjured from a heart that has experienced an aching loss. Roedd caru y Duw wedi anghofio.
