A Wreath From Soul Poem by Jaishree Nair

A Wreath From Soul

Rating: 5.0

My heart when full,
I shower in my lines
to clear the staleness of the past
and refresh with the present...

The bitter sweet juice of life's drops
fills my cup with flavours various...
Now on the threshold of second innings,
reflections bubbling forth.

Hard hearted many call me at times
Mistakes my smiles for sneers...
Smirks at my detachment...
Mocks at my confinement...

Little realising the reason for my withdrawal...
My fear of creeping out of my shell,
My heart too tender to withstand
the slightest of tremors...

Bitter memories etched into my lines
adding wrinkles, now too many...
Slowly drinking the bitterness of my destiny.
Treading towards my doom every second!

My flowers of soul..
Nurtured by my tears-
Wreath the beads of life's drops
to place over my corpse...!
