A woman! !
Embodiment of beauty!
Epitome of love!
The gift of unseen hands!
With the grace of a swan
and dignity in her stride
With the heart of gold
and elegance in her aura
This gift of unseen hands
Taken from the rib of Adam -they say;
Enticed him to eat THE FRUIT -they say;
Responsible for opening the Pandora's Box -they say;
To let out troubles unlimited -they say.
But can't imagine a world without her-
The generator of generations,
The maker of the society
The face of many faces!
This gift of unseen hands
Weak in gender sometimes...
But strong in mind always...
Meek like a deer when loved;
Fierce like a lion when wounded.
Like a mother hen she weaves a mantle around her family;
Protective and possessive in nature,
When hurt she suffers alone-
When happy she rejoices with all
Not a show piece to be adorned;
Has proved her mettle many a time,
Space created in all sectors-
Evidence of equality shown
Like coffee without beans
Like dessert without sugar
This world without women..
Lovely song on the woman power. Beautifully expressed. Reminds me of the heroines of Indian epics, Satyawati (pl see my poem series Satyawati) , who is great ancestor to both Kauravas and Pandavas; Devayani (my poem series named Yayati) , Ahalya (my poem named “Silence is what I Choose”) etc. (contd)
Like coffee without beans Like dessert without sugar This world without women.. Indeed, this gift on unknown hands. Well-said
But can't imagine a world without her- The generator of generations, Meek like a deer when loved; Fierce like a lion when wounded.... //.... A befitting tribute to all women. Thanks & Congrats. To MyPoemList.

Part 2 In my poem “the swan and me”, I had told the story of Leda, from the Greek myth. The stories of modern heroines I have depicted in “Mother of Emmet Till”, “there is no place by that name”, “the world was only darker”...
