He didn't ask for a feast of delicacies...
Just a mouthful to quieten his rumbling belly, .
The pangs of hunger spreading fire
burning a hole in his blurred vision of better self.
Heedless of the animals scrounging the left overs...
Heedless of the people gorging with bloated bellies...
Pinching a little to douse the flame...
He stepped into the snare of idle game hunters.
to face judgement by these law breakers! .
Surrounded by the phantoms of the living
who poked and grabbed, teased and taunted
the helpless native of their own soil
Like a sensation, they celebrated the act
Scaffolding in the gallows of parched humanity
his life stolen by the cowards of time's youth
The ashes buried in the forest of his origin!
