Above The Weary Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Above The Weary

Take me darkness from the weary
For life has lingered far too long
The inception, far beneath the soil
Is a resting place where I belong

Springtime wakes the tallest tree
In rest I shall not linger
From the mist of cool soil
Hither a new found vigor

Weary walks along time's banks
Alongside the setting sun
Running brooks are brimming, with snakes
A bridge to cross upon

From the calmness of the deathwatch
An afterlife vigil walks away
Now the dead are free to wander
Life begins another day
