Accessory Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Accessory

Just because I have shown,
To you my loyalty and respect.
Do 'Not' accept in your mind,
Kept to believe...
I agree and approve,
Of your distasteful disrespectful ways...
You frequently display to others,
Non-stop and ongoing on a daily basis.
My integrity, hopefully,
I can keep unblemished to remain intact.
Although there have been a few eyebrows,
I've witnessed to raise...
Who may question that.

My loyalty to show and to you to have,
Is not soul selling.
Nor cheap on a leash to pull around.
And not lost to be found,
Left kicked to the curb.
Sitting to commit it to the gutter.

It's your thoughtless unconsciousness,
That has me believing...
You think of me as another accessory to use.
But...
Guess what?
Like a switch I can turn your,
Sssshhh...
Nonsense.
From on to off.
And right now you've got me,
Wanting to stay that way permanently.
