birds came down from trees
scouring grass field looking
for earthworms who felt heat
after a rain soak their home
unknowingly serve plants
aerating; providing roots
how noble that could be
serving two hungry masters
one with wings, one with roots
us there are hungry for praise
those thirsting for hug and kiss
are persistent like wind blowing
