After watching the stampede, the mayhem
The unnecessary violent pandemonium
Caused by the bloody brutal terrorists
The staunched enemies of peace
I thought hard about having an alcoholic drink
To soothe the pain, to help me swallow, sink
The horror that I just watched on television
I was shocked, sad, and drowned in emotions
The evil terrorists have gone too darn far
Too far. This is sickening, outrageous; this is war
As I was about to mix whiskey, gin, rum, vodka
And lemon juice. Suddenly, I changed my mind
I decided instead, to drink a huge glass of water
To extinguish the fire in my heart, spleen, and aorta
That was painful, hurtful, criminal and unkind
To witness so many innocent lives destroyed by terror
When will we see the end of that madness?
When will see the glimpse of happiness?
Even in deep sadness, we need to be in control
As we must play, at all times, an exemplary role
Be kind to the body; alcohol can only worsen things
It's better to praise the Lord, pray, write, read, and sing.

One can imagine the seriousness of this act of terror on going through the lines of your poem. The tragedy is outrageous and unpardonable. The perpetrators of this heinous act must be paid back in the same coin. We pray for those died or injured. I was shocked, sad, and drowned in emotions The evil terrorists have gone too darn far Too far. This is sickening, outrageous; this is war When will we see the end of that madness?
