Allie’s Dream (Alison Cassidy & Jerry Hughes) Poem by Rommel Filoteo

Allie’s Dream (Alison Cassidy & Jerry Hughes)

Rating: 5.0

Allie always had a dream for Jerry,
a dream that nobody can accomplish.
She cried herself to sleep thinking of him,
she looked up at their star,
and wished him to get all the best in this world.

She always shows her love everyday
just to give him strength.
When she’s in Jerry’s arms
he always takes her in rainbow splash of colour -
Her partner…
Her best friend…
Her husband…
Her love…
Her soul mate…

For 45 long years she loved him dearly…
She always loved him at his worst,
and is always there at his best.
Splashed with the freedom of a child
on the canvas of her life,
in the dizzying tempo into each other.
So she stands at the core
of something which is not easy,
yet extraordinarily beautiful.

Every so often, there is peace,
like one of those magnificent colors.
The hue of another beautiful reminiscence,
Washes over and through her
and she smiles through her tears.

You are so dear to me Mother Alison,

Mahal kita!

What a fine poem to offer as a gift. Very romantic as it should be not many couples get to spend so long in love in this life.

Rommel, I am humbled and embarrassed by your beautiful words. Thank you so much for writing this poem about our fairytale romance that has lingered over 45 years! . I love your rainbow metaphor - the colors represent the myriad of experiences that two people encounter on their journey 'till death us do part'. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
