Almost Decade After Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Have you ever witnessed nature’s fury?
If yes, then you will surely believe power of almighty
No power on earth can stage such colossal loss
You may wonder whether any city previously here was

It is almost decade now when that incident occurred
The scene of entire kutch *area was altered
Whole of Bhuj* city was under ruins
Only people could be seen with pain

Thousands lost their lives and became homeless
Relatives and most of the population remained without any trace
It was completely devastated all over
There was no food and shelter

Even though the aid was rushed immediately
The tears of people could not be wiped out completely
It was not man made but came all of sudden
The after shocks are observed today even

It is observed that earth plates are moving below
It makes more space beneath and allowed
This causes tremors and spread to far off places
Lots of houses still develop cracks

Bhuj* city has come up like anything
It has wide roads now and has lot more in offing
It has limped back to normal stage
The saga may remain memorable on sad page
