Alone In The Dark - Poem by Suzanne Gaut

I feel very alone.
The dark follows me everywhere.
I look to see what's really there but all I see is nothing....
I sit and wonder if there's anyone who could help, but I can't see anyone, the world is
just a big empty space.
But then I see, I look and I see a light. I get all excited because there's finally someone there.
Someone I can open up to,
Someone who can help me.
I try to run and catch them. I keep running, but they keep running.
Then I stop because I realize I can't try catch them anymore.
They are gone, nothing felt but me and the dark. I'm alone once alone.....
I sit down and start to cry, I don't even know why. I can't get back on my feet.
It can never be like it was five years ago when everything was perfect.
I didn't have to hurt.
I didn't have to worry.
I just lived in the moment, but life doesn't work that way.
I tell myself not to cry. Everything will be okay.
Because I found someone.
Someone is finally there.
Someone I can actually open up to.
Someone who can help me.
I try to run, and catch them.
They're mine.
There is no more running, No nore hiding.
Because he brought me to the light. He pulled me from the dark.
I am no longer alone.
For I have someone. Someone who understands, Someone I can open up to.
Someone who can help me.
