Although The Wind - Poem by Izumi Shikibu

Although the wind
blows terribly here,
the moonlight also leaks
between the roof planks
of this ruined house.

    another waka by Izumi Shikibu:

    岩つゝじをりもてぞ見るせこが着し紅ぞめの色に似たれば

    Azaleas ’twixt the rocks:
    Plucked, held and gazed upon;
    My darling wore
    Dark crimson
    Colours, such as these.
