Am Thirsty - Poem by Manonton Dalan

a loud siren piercing
sky of silence; rumbling
down street this afternoon
was it air raid or something
then everything is quiet
it's only a monthly drill

joggers went on speeding
fallen leaves stayed still
maintenance trucks at stop
pizza line keep on moving
jet planes fly by in rows
I got my pie started eating

oh! my I have to go back
left my drinks on table top

Topic(s) of this poem: drink
