An Anecdote Poem by Sandra Feldman

An Anecdote

My friend does not like poetry,
'The most depressing thing, I know, '
Says, She,
There is something to that,
Most lyric poetry reflects deep feelings,
And in Life there's always more pain
Than emancipating jubilee,
Poetry cannot,
Should not, ever hide reality.
