An Antecedent Moment Poem by Smoky Hoss

An Antecedent Moment

Rating: 5.0

Let us bring wild flowers
of whose names we are unaware.
Let us give them names
of our own making.
Names radiant with the glow
of our first thought
upon seeing true beauty.
Wild names originating from wild hearts
alive with imagination.
Then let us hold the beauty
within us.
Beauty flowing
like blood through our hearts,
life giving
to all.
Let us now bring our own wild flowers
as an offering of thanks
to the unquenchable, unconquerable
Beauty that is
love.

A fun poem, Smoky. Creative idea to give our own names to things, but when you think about it, I guess we have always done that. Eve: Why did you name that animal a hippopotamus? Adam: Well, it looks more like a hippopotamus than anything else!
