An Apology Poem by Sandeep Mandal

An Apology

Rating: 4.5

Eyes getting wet at thoughts
That once enlivened my spirit
Soaking my heart with hopes
Inspired great work of merit.

Trying to see through tears
With heavy heart for mistakes
Unintentionally repeated
Turns me into a living dead.

Imploring again and again
Persuasion fades out in pain.
Words get stuck for apology,
Vision seems to be very hazy.

Mind still longs for a smile,
In a hope to be forgiven,
Taking me out of the dark den
That saddens me once in a while.

Thank you everyone. I feel really very honoured for the kind of encouraging words you have shared. The poem was born out of the pain for not being forgiven by someone very close to my heart.

Apology is very good for mending of a wounded and sour heart. On the other hand, forgiveness is by far a more fulfilling emotion than vengeance, it's an attribute of the strong and not the weak. A lovely piece of poetry, nicely penned from the heart. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕9
