An Indoor Cat's Diary (Feel Free To Laugh) Poem by ShellyBean Stanowski

An Indoor Cat's Diary (Feel Free To Laugh)

Monday 27
The great escape takes place on Sunday,
my cruel captors are driving me insane.
I know these human haven't got a clue,
Just watching them proves they have no brain!

Tuesday 28
How much do my captors think I can endure?
They eat lavish meals as I watch and cry!
Chicken, tuna, beef I see them consume,
while I'm forced to subsist on food that is dry.

Wednesday 29
Only five more days before my escape,
today was boring so I tried to play!
So I decided to hang from the curtains,
swinging back and forth, such fun to sway!

Thursday 30
Today was one of my worst days yet,
the small one with braided ears dressed me.
Baby dolls clothes are just so offensive,
I pooped in her bed when she set me free!

Friday 31
Sunday can't get here fast enough for me,
nothing is mine in the prison of my captor's.
So I sprayed on all their furniture and rugs,
just before I find my way to the outdoors.

Saturday 1
Just one more day to my great freedom!
to celebrate I ate a houseplant or two.
Then I went to each of these humans,
and gave them all my long farewell mews.

Sunday 2
Yes I'm still in the house, I HATE the outdoors!
Wet grass, dogs and squirrels, a felines hell!
Besides, I enjoy using my kitty box...
I love when the humans yell, 'What's that SMELL?

lol! I'm laughing because you said I could, but more importantly because I'm happy - I know it's really you! You and your cats! ! Yup, it's Shelly!

Being a cat person, I was naturally drawn to your poem. Fortunately, my tabby (Mischief) is well-behaved. Fun write!
