...And In A Perfect World Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

...And In A Perfect World

Rating: 5.0

Our world is in a complete 'tumult'...
.....Upside down - turned around- -
Common sense and morals seem to have disappeared
.....With nary an agreeable answer to be found!

We are in the middle of a sizzling 'hot mess'...
.....So much ANGER, so much HATRED, so much GRIEF- -
Where is the love - the happiness - 'the peace? '
.....Thinking it is time we all turned over a 'new leaf'!

Yes, i am dreaming of a world in perfect harmony...
Right side up and in a 'perfectly balanced place'- -
.....With a return of morals, common sense & reasoning-
With nothing but smiles upon each countries face...! ! !

A place where there is no extremism-yet honoring other countries ways
.....Whether it be 'religious' or a family's choice- -
Abiding by correct moral actions & directions at last...
.....So that our world will at last have: 'One Voice'! ! ! ! !

Written with condolences to all who lost someone in Manchester, England yesterday at the concert. There were many young children there - some as young as 6 - mostly young girls. Also, sending prayers for the wounded.

I found this quote from a FB friend of mine tonight and found it quite appropriate.

**'Je Suis Manchester, England - 5/22/2017- 22killed...59 wounded'
'Je Suis Bangkok - 5/22/2017- 24 injured'
'God Pity Mankind...The only thing we have learned to do in 2017 is to kill each other...RIP...'- -David Winters(Award winning director, producer, actor, writer, choreographer.) 26 Nominations - 15 wins.

I echo your sentiments. I think your writing resounds in many contexts that we are faced with today. The one thing we all need to remember is to cling to one another, to respect each other and be there for each other. I still have hope for a better tomorrow. Well written and thanks for sharing.

It is sad that bombings such as the one at Manchester no longer surprise- - - saddens me, burdens me, torments me- -but surprise me? We inmates of Planet Earth know that the acts of evil and the acts of terrorism and the acts of murder have joined hands and are difficult for the goodness on earth to overcome... but we will not stop praying, we will not stop loving, we will not stop trying to defeat evil at every turn. Well-written, Theo, as usual. Carry the flag into battle, my friend.

What a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, Miracle of a Poem. That encircles human depravity, present and past inhuman behavior., murder of the innocent. A cry for sanity, a cry for the poor victims of insanity. Better than a prayer, a talented and beautiful plea, for proper human behavior, for tolerance and love, against blind murder and hate. It there could be new written codes to change this planet and its inhabitants, this Poem would be it! The Sincerity, Pain, and Love with which it was created go beyond words of Praise. Your name, Theodora, which means gift from God could not have been better chosen. And this, your magnificent poem is a Gift to all humanity. May it be read and understood for the betterment of all. May all who read it be grateful and thankful for your beautiful Voice, in man's lonely desert.

My dear Sandra, i do not even know where to begin.... so i will just say thank you! My message is a strong one - coming from my soul. After hearing of the suicide bombing in Manchester i was brought to tears again. Reminded of this most barbaric world that we now live in where another persons life means nothing....this concert was exceedingly evil as the attendee's were mostly young girls - i believe the youngest one who died was 8. i pray EVERY DAY for a mass miracle from God. It seems HE is in the middle of a battle with horrific evil...HE needs us all...one way or the other...to help...however we can - - even if it is the simple act of praying every day. The terrorists are in a self destruct mode and as long as they are filled with the demonic force that drives them we will have no safety most especially for our children. We MUST NOT BE APATHHETIC...or be like birds with their faces buried in sand...vigilance and absolute awareness is a must! Here and in other countries. In order for our world to defeat ISIS and Alkheda (sp) we must all become warriors, so to speak, of our Creator. He NEEDS all of our help. You dear Sandra have such a beautiful heart and soul - that e verything you write just radiates. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and may our God bless you and keep you, always. (To put an end to the terrorists regime WE MUST all become part of OUR CREATORS TEAM!
