Anecdotal Yodels Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Anecdotal Yodels

Based upon hearsay and what others observe.
Neither to validate nor prove to exist.
Many will run to the streets or rooftops to shout,
With mouths opened wide...
To spread what they heard done to do quick.
As their lips drip from juice.
Giving those who listen,
How recent and fresh...
This stuff is for them to get.

Embellished or not,
Anecdotal yodels of an incident to pick...
Is given the attention,
Regardless of the truth of it.
Depicted in detail is a picture to paint.
Until a lie that is told,
Has someone framed to taint.
And this who claim the truth they spoke,
Can seldom remember from where or who...
That truth came to them to reveal a name.
