Angel Feathers Poem by Paula Glynn

Angel Feathers

Rating: 5.0

Everything must go
The apartment empty of
Its furniture and possessions
The beige carpet pulled up
The kitchen cupboards bare
The windows with no blue curtains
The neighbours that did never stare

The busy bus takes me away
To a brand new place
A place where I will be home
Another home after the end
Where I said goodbye to every friend
As they wished me lots of luck
In an exciting new and vibrant town

I started office work on Monday
I have a day of rest on Sunday
And Friday night it's on the town
Where I meet various friends
And play the innocent clown
There my eyes clap onto him:
The man of my dreams

I wander up to him and say hello
The man with a worthwhile ego
I notice his dark brown eyes
His allure and charisma
A beautiful surprise
And a surprise he's single
But not anymore:

I am his dream woman
His magical future wife
Now I enter his loveless life
And enjoy love and passion
A neverending love between us
The man my hero and confidant
A man with a face like a work of art

Now innocent children follow
The children of tomorrow
Raised with love and praise
Respect and never neglect
Children with angel feathers
And love from heaven above
Love that shall last forever.
