Angelito Poem by G J Salgado

Angelito

He was full of Spanish flavor
Seasoned just how I like it
Taste in my mouth I let is savor
He gets me so excited

The way he moves is just
Like a thief in the night
The moon shining on us
It was love at first sight

He tells me things I want to hear
You are really something
He's whispering in my ear
I'll give you everything
He's no longer a stranger
Tells me I don't have to worry about nothing

He says some things are yours
Some things are mine
Then we fell before we even hit the floor
How did we survive
The rain fell from my skin onto yours
How did we die
Where were you when I locked the door

He threw away the key
Kept inside a forbidden box
I felt everything in between
He was such a sly fox
Erased away before we knew what it could mean
Filtering our empty thoughts
Are you listening to me
Is it something that we forgot

Your heart never skipped a beat
It's changing you the way it's been changing me
I fell trying to stand on my feet
It's even changed the way we bleed

The blood is thick in the water
But is it pure enough to drink
Dancing in the fire
It burns when we swallow
We're drowning as we think
Then we put on our halos
