Anger Finds Always Its Reasons To Be
Anger finds always its reasons to be,
And sometimes may use a more powerful voice
Than it really possesses; as birds fluff their feathers
In mock-deadly duels, when choosing a mate.
But anger too, has it's own place and time,
Though it is made weak, by continual use;
Like the hand always lingers, over the Queen
Feinting the win, in a tired game of chess.
If you would choose rightly, which to forget
And which to lose sleep, while it plots it's revenge,
The kind of anger that's best not ignored: the kind
Says no word; counting all your heartbeats.

Hi Patti - One reason to Meditate is to be able to quench anger and seek a gentler way of settling arguments. V 1 Anger is one of the seven daedly sins and always 'Finds a reason to be'. V 2 I agree it is 'Made weak be continual use' (this maxim applies to everything) . I lifes 'Game of Chess' sometimes it is better to forget the Queen and concentrate your play on the less garessive pieces. V 3 Revenge is worse than anger. What I personally fear most is 'Cold Silent Anger'. A challenging poem - thanks for sharing. Love in poetry - JOHN
