Animal Freedom Poem by Louie Levy

Animal Freedom

Sounds of sleep,

an awakening shriek
Silenced dreams of
galloping Steeds and
mating Mares

Unshod hoof, barebacked
herded cantering plains for
greener pastures

Hunger sweats for hungered substance
Crystal streams, desperate thirsts
Off-spring creatures, flock Earth,
given survival - freedom of flight

All devour, their destined prey,
while sport, the most relentless,

Unworthy wasting,
inhuman foe.
