Animals - Poem by Sunil D'pudi

In each other
We relish the tastes we swallowed,
The bodies we entered
And swam into
Like fish in tepid waters.

The corners
We took refuge:
The strong odour of sweat,
Fervently, we savour.
The flesh you dug into
The lips you'd bitten,
Clenching, puckering and carressing
All the havens
From earlobes
To the smooth rivulet
Of your spine.

Every moment of pain,
Every moment of pleasure
- are indisputable trophies
To the instincts of a stalking predator.
