And so December comes again
For us, the weather turns once more
Across the miles, on distant shores
It's warmer now than it was before
As we sit down to celebrate
With food upon our dinner plate
Somewhere across the world it seems
There'll be no welcome Christmas dreams
War torn countries, blown apart
No celebration, just weak hearts
A symptom of the separation
Helpless people, in helpless nations
So spare a thought for struggling lands
Say a prayer, hold children's hands
Spend a moment in isolation
Think of those in desperation
Give something to someone who
Has nothing to live for, like you
And as you celebrate the year
Think of those who live in fear
Go out and do a special deed
To wash away the hurt and greed
Stop for a moment, try to see
There's more to this, than a Christmas tree
And upon the start of a brand new year
Let's give them hope, and banish fear

I would like to translate this poem
Yes, let's give hope and banish fear! I am looking out at a very thin veil of snow...and oddity here in MN. December is a time of celebration, but for many it is a reminder that there is much for us to be grateful for and much for us to pray about- the people who are not as fortunate, who are living in poverty, in grief, in war. I like that the poem brings up important points, but also reminds us to look and strive for peace for hope. Thanks.
