Ants Poem by Marilyn Lott

Ants

Rating: 5.0

I remember as a little girl
I’d sit for long periods of time
Watching a simple ant hill
They were interesting I’d find

For they all had their duties
As they’d scurry along their way
All working together they were
Without a single pause or delay

Around for millions of years
Or so the theory goes
We don’t particularly like them
They are quite fascinating though

We squish them or we swat them
To keep them all at bay
When we have a picnic we’d like
For them to please stay away

But if you haven’t taken time
To study them by any chance
Set aside time to observe awhile
The amazing little ants!

Great poem. There is a lesson to be learnt from the perseverance that the ants exhibit. Thanks. But if you haven’t taken time To study them by any chance Set aside time to observe awhile The amazing little ants!

You are making me itch already Marilyn, and the flying ones are just horrid, but they are amazing insects busying themselves all day and night. We probably all look like them at a vast distance. Ha! Enjoyable if 'itchy' read. Ha! Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
