Are You Married?



Back stage I congratulated
the distinguished speaker
who spoke for an hour on
the virtues of marriage

quoting philosophers
and poets dead and alive
showing a horde of slides.

Suddenly he asked me -
are you married?
I said no with a smile.

A great choice, said he.
