Are You Still There? Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Are You Still There?

Rating: 5.0

Are you still there?

I am searching for you deep in my heart
I hope you have not decided to depart
From this old heart of mine
This my old heart so so fine
I hope you are still there
wandering it's thoroughfare
You are my star
don't go far

Dwell within it for eternity
It will give you paternity
give you maternity
The right ventricle for me and you
The left for our tots born anew
Our kids
Our seeds
For their needs

I will never bleed
Unless you decide to leave
Breaking this heart of ours
blood flowing for hours
dont go away my flower
You give me willpower
to search for you everywhere
In my heart of hearts are you still there?

'Are you still there? ' I love the way the entire poem hangs on this question, the depth of love in stanza 1, the shared children in stanza 2, the fear of separation in stanza 3, wonderful

Special one. It is difficult to remove some special person from our heart and it is a bitter truth. Nice poem.
