Arise Dear Soul Poem by Matthew Holloway

Arise Dear Soul

Be careful who and what
you allow within your soul and mind
walk with trepidation, at times
to avoid the pitfalls of anger
doubt and all negativity
take chances carefully weighed
be wary of loss and setback
but never beholden to them
better to have loved and lost
to have risked the turn of a coin
than never knowing what if
pain, sorrow, loss can be an education
a future armour to be called upon
find that inner fight, that warrior
to guard against the ills and such
still be cautious of who and what
feeds your life
never fear them and rise high
beautiful, scared and alive
