Arizona, A Pulsating "Vena" In My Memory

Rating: 5.0

Arizona, a pulsating "vena" (vein) in my memory
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
If the saguaro brings back lovely memories
Of the Arizonian sun full of fun for almost two years
And of things full of love and moonshine
If I thought that my husband's lupine is fine
He thought that my two rhodendrons have a ton of bloom
And my heart would have sung forever
And I would gladly been a busy mom with three children
But for the fact that I had a burning ambition
To be known by the epithet, The Scintillating Engineer-Mom
And for about two years, I did personify the metaphor
And it is still an image forever etched in my memory with one beautiful son
And it remained the sad truth
About mine and my husband's romantic love and lust
That we made only one baby with boundless love.
